TRAINING SCHEDULE

  • Kick-off: Sept 27th afternoon & evening

  • Weekly Monday Training from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sept 29, October 6, 13, 20, 27, Nov 3, 10, 17, 24, Dec 1 and 8th

  •  Art Reach: November date TBD by participants

  • Bright Night: January date TBD by participants

*Students must not miss more than two meetings in order to complete the training

**Students are required to participate in all special events to complete the training (Art Reach, BRIGHT night showcase event

 

BRIGHT TRAINING DETAILS 
 

  • In addition to weekly training there will be roughly 2 hours of homework to be completed between classes. 

  • The outreach event (Art Reach) is an opportunity to share your gifts with the localcommunity.

  • The cost for the Bright training is normally $500.  This pilot training will be roughly $100, that includes a $20 annual membership fee.  This is just to cover the costs of the training. The itemized costs will be provided after acceptance into the program. 

  • Bright Night is a culminating celebration with the Bright community, including friends and family of participating artists.

PHASE 1: EQUIPPING

The Equipping Phase consists of in-person training where we use materials such as the book, A Call for Balladeers: Pursuing Art and Beauty for the Discipling of Nations, trainings related to Identity in Christ, Spiritual Warfare, Biblical Worldview, Apologetics, and Business and the Arts. We also invite experienced, God-loving artists to share their wealth of knowledge gained through working in the art world. These experienced artists are from around the world and join in person as well as through video calls.

The Creation Phase overlaps with the Equipping Phase and allows you to intentionally co-create with God and with each other in the training. This phase begins with quiet times seeking God's direction for the focus of the next steps in this phase as well as the Outreach Phase. You will envision how you can use your gifts to shine God's light in the world and begin working towards that. You will then begin to create with each other and collaborate on projects and develop a collective vision for the Outreach Phase and beyond.

PHASE 2: CREATION

PHASE 3: OUTREACH

The Outreach/Internship Phase overlaps with the Creation Phase. You are given opportunities to apply your personal artistic abilities in practical ways. Every artist will participate in an outreach.

 

Internships are with Christian partners, including churches, businesses, organizations, individuals, or even BRIGHT itself. Internships depend on availability and match for both the artist and the partner. During an internship you will work toward a set goal. Examples of these are writing a song, painting a mural, creating a sculpture, website development, directing a short film, recording/mixing music, etc. 

AFTER BRIGHT TRAINING

Once training is complete we hope you stay connected! You will become a part of a growing community of Christian artists who desire to use their gifts for God's glory.
